UNITECH

Unitech Textile Machinery, established in Motemurlo (Prato) in 1956, is an SME producing powerloom manufacturing machinery specifically for the textile enrichment segment. Unitech sells its products worldwide, from Eastern Europe to the Middle East, from North Africa to South America. Activities in foreign markets allowed the company to end 2013 with a turnover of €23 million, an increase of €5 million compared with 2012 (+28%).

South America is a key market for us. Insurance instruments have proved vital for operating in these settings. They have allowed us to guarantee our receivables by hedging the country risk in the countries we operate in, allowing us to still remain competitive.Andrea Piattelli, Chairman of Unitech

For Italian businesses exporting is no longer just an opportunity, it is a real necessity. Companies that anticipated this trend have managed to remain competitive in spite of the crisis.

Unitech, which has been selling its machinery throughout the world for many years, together with SACE managed to gain the greatest benefits from one of the most promising markets for Italian-made goods: South America.

In 2013 alone, SACE insured supplies of machinery for textile manufacture ordered by customers in Brazil, Ecuador, and Peru from the Tuscan SME for €1.4 million.

Through the Supplier Credit policy, businesses can insure their sales abroad against the risk of non-payment and protect their liquidity flows.

For contracts of under €5 million, SACE has made two simplified versions of the Supplier Credit policy available online at the ExportPlus portal: Plus One and Basic.
