Agreements SACE - 27 August 2026

SACE and CTBC Bank join forces to support new business and investment opportunities between Italy and the Far East

SACE, Italy’s Export Credit Agency fully owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and CTBC Bank—one of Taiwan’s leading banking groups with an established presence in Asian markets—signed an agreement today aimed at strengthening collaboration and developing new financing, investment, and business opportunities between Italy and the Far East.

The agreement was marked by a signing ceremony attended by SACE President Guglielmo Picchi and CTBC Bank President Tony Yang, establishing a cooperation framework aimed at supporting projects and investments in Asia, Europe, and other selected international markets, leveraging the complementarities between the Italian and Asian industrial sectors.

In particular, SACE and CTBC Bank will collaborate to identify financing opportunities with a strategic Italian component, evaluating the possibility of combining CTBC Bank’s financing and advisory capabilities with the insurance-financial and risk-mitigation instruments provided by SACE.

The agreement also provides for business-matching initiatives between Italian and Asian companies, aiming to foster new commercial relationships, industrial partnerships, joint ventures, investments, and strategic alliances. The collaboration may also include sector-specific events, seminars, and networking activities designed to showcase the expertise of Italian supply chains and facilitate connections with potential local partners.

A further area of cooperation concerns support for the investment and development of Italian companies in the Far East through integrated financial solutions in strategic sectors such as automotive, automation, microelectronics and semiconductors, renewable energy, energy storage systems, digital transformation, and data centers.

The agreement will thus help strengthen economic and industrial relations, supporting bilateral investment flows and the involvement of "Made in Italy" supply chains in high-potential projects in the Far East.

SACE President of the Boards of Directors Guglielmo Picchi stated: “The signing of this agreement marks a further step in strengthening economic relations between Italy and the Far East and in building partnerships capable of generating new opportunities for our businesses. Collaboration with CTBC Bank will enable us to leverage the complementarities between our industrial systems, fostering investment, trade relations, and the involvement of Italian supply chains in strategic projects across Asian markets.
