Agreements SACE - 09 September 2026

SACE and Banco de la Nación Argentina join forces to support Italian exports to Argentina

SACE, Italy’s Export Credit Agency, owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Banco de la Nación Argentina (“BNA”), Argentina’s leading public bank, have signed an agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two institutions and supporting new export opportunities for Italian companies in Argentina.

The agreement was signed in Buenos Aires, as part of the business mission to Argentina and Brazil organised by Confindustria and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), in coordination with the Italian Embassies in Buenos Aires and Brasília, by SACE Chief Executive Officer Michele Pignotti, who is leading the company’s delegation to Latin America. The signing took place on the sidelines of the interinstitutional plenary session at the headquarters of the Banco de la Nación Argentina.

The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation to exchange information and identify projects and opportunities of interest to Italian companies. Also leveraging BNA’s broad and diversified corporate client base, the agreement will help create new business opportunities and facilitate the entry and growth of Italian companies in the Argentine market, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises and Made in Italy supply chains.

SACE and BNA will work together to facilitate access to financial, insurance and guarantee solutions in support of trade transactions between Italy and Argentina, involving Italian exporters and local buyers. Cooperation may focus on the energy and sustainable transition, infrastructure, machinery, agri-food, textile and construction sectors, where Italian companies offer outstanding expertise and solutions.

The cooperation with Banco de la Nación Argentina strengthens SACE’s commitment to supporting Italian companies looking to Argentina and, more broadly, to Latin American markets. Through this agreement, we aim to facilitate new export opportunities in the country, making financing, insurance and guarantee solutions more accessible and supporting companies in their growth and internationalisation journeys. The agreement is fully aligned with our SACE50 strategic plan and confirms our commitment to consolidating our presence in the region, strengthening support for Italian exports and helping create new business opportunities for Made in Italy, said Michele Pignotti, Chief Executive Officer of SACE.
