Environmental and Social Impact Assessment availability for the "Sakarya Gas Field Development (Phase III)" Project
SACE is assessing the Sakarya Gas Field Development Phase III Project which will further expand production capacity of Sakarya Gas Field, located in the Western Black Sea within the exclusive economic zone of Turkey, by approximately 26 million Sm3/day.
Phase III involves developing both Sakarya reservoirs and the Amasra Field located about 40 km northeast of Sakarya, and it includes the drilling of 26 new wells (16 in Sakarya and 10 in Amasra), installation of a new Subsea Production System (SPS) and Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) infrastructure, and deployment of a new-build Floating Production Unit (FPU) with a new dry-gas export pipeline to the onshore receiving facilities (OPF) at Filyos. Upon Phase III completion, the total Sakarya Gas Field capacity is expected to be approximately 46.5 million Sm3/day (Phase I + Phase II + Phase III). The drilling of optional 6 wells in Göktepe field, located 80km west of Sakarya, will be considered subject to future decisions with potential for future tie-ins.
SACE is carrying on the environmental and social review of this Project on the basis of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) provided by the Project Company.
