Environmental and Social Impact Assessment availability for the “Makutopora to Isaka Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) Project”

SACE has received an application for insurance coverage for the “Makutopora to Isaka Standard Gauge Railway Project”, which involves the construction of the Electrified SGR lines in Tanzania: from Makutupora to Tabora (Lot 3, approximately 294 km) and from Tabora to Isaka (Lot 4, approximately 130 km). The which tracks largely follow the existing Meter Gauge Railway (MGR) line.

SACE is conducting the environmental and social review of this project based on the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) provided by the applicant.
