In January 2001, SACE introduced its Environmental Guidelines and established the Environment Unit, defining an Environmental Procedure and a structure to address the potential ecological impacts of Italian exports that require SACE’s support.

The Guidelines are consistent with regulations and principles stated in the Recommendation "Common Approaches on Environment and Officially Supported Export Credits", as defined by the OECD, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (www.oecd.org ).

The Environment Unit also carries out consultancy activities, addressing both project assessments and the organization of professional training courses on environmental topics.
